9. Een toekomst
Prof. Hendrik Vos en Sven Speybrouck hebben er een helse tocht door Europa op zitten, een soort ‘Easy Rider’ van Europa, waarin ze als Bonnie & Clyde de geschiedenis achterna reisden. Terug in Brussel praten ze met columniste en Europa-kenner Caroline De Gruyter. Hoe ziet zij Europa evolueren? Ze ziet het als “stumbling forward”: er is geen weg terug, de enige weg is vooruit, ook al gaat het soms moeizaam. Zoals een goed huwelijk, dus. Maar ... hoe zit dat nu met die cheetah?

8. Eén minder: Brexit
Eens in de zoveel tijd is er een Euro-exodus naar Straatsburg. Sven Speybrouck en prof. Hendrik Vos gaan mee met Cindy Franssen naar het Europees Parlement. Daarna steken ze de grens over naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk, want Europa heeft er een grens bij sinds de Brexit. In 2016 stemden de Britten ‘Leave’. Weg uit de Unie. Daarmee kwam na 47 jaar een einde aan het lidmaatschap van het VK van de EU. Het was de eerste keer in de geschiedenis van de EU dat een lidstaat terugtrad uit de Unie.
