[…] Listening to all of those tips can reduce your risk of intract infections. But the single biggest thing that you can do, particularly if you're somebody that experiences urinary tract infections, is to use local oestrogen. Local oestrogen comes in the form of pessaries, gels, rings and creams. And you just apply them locally and they are safe to use. The risks are practically non-existent. It's not particularly glamorous. It's a bit of a hassle. In the next morning, you can have a bit of discharge or it can feel a bit damp. But in the long run, it is just a very, very useful, healthy thing to do to basically keep those tissues as estrogenized as possible. […]
