Welcome to King of the Ride podcast, hosted by Ted King. A professional road cyclist turned gravel racer... err, rider? I still have that competitive bug now 20+ years into my professional racing career, but poking around the overarching cycling community is what piques my interest. Slinging maple syrup (hello UnTapped (https://www.untapped.cc)!), leading rides, hosting camps, and just enjoying life on two wheels, I have the chance to chat with athletes, entrepreneurs, and all walks of life who love the bicycle. […] So here there was the Britannia CC, which was, you know, Britannia Cycling Club, which was all the Brits. There was the Barolina CC, which was the German community. There was a Portuguese club, an Italian club. And each club would put on races and then quite often after they're just have big parties um and everybody would be there and so like dances and stuff after and so it was a real it was i think you know they bonded through cycling back then it was much much different than it is now in the club scene everybody was just like volunteers um there are races all the time Yeah. And that's when I when I was growing up in the sport, it was more like that than than how things are now. […]
