But with survival being at the top, so when we are in situations that we feel unsafe, then we develop adaptive strategies in order to disconnect from our bodies that are screaming out that we're unsafe and then to be able to re-engage. So how do we stay distant in a situation at school? How do we stay, appear emotionally stable when we're being teased, picked on, humiliated, bullied, right?
