"The Future of Osteoporosis Treatment" by Dr. Marc N. Wein, MD., PHD

In this program, Dr. Wein, MD, PHD of Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be discussing new treatments under investigation used to treat osteoporosis. These advancing potential new osteoporosis therapies will be accelerated due to the FDA’s approval of Bone Mineral Density as the primary endpoint for new medications based on the SABRE recommendations. Previously, approval was based on fracture prevention, which prolonged drug development and hindered innovative research into new medications. This is an exciting change for osteoporosis research.

Here is the link to the Wein Laboratory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZgVEWaRSe8 (where some of the latest technology is currently taking place.) 3/2026 Here is a link to an article printed about the new oral medication currently under testing, SK-124 https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/973616#:~:text=Wein%20and%20his%20colleagues%20generated,%2C%20and%20Radius%20Health%2C%20Inc.

Dr. Marc Wein is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Member of the Broad Institute.
