[…] What is the RAO? So the RAO, the Rules of Assembly Operations, really covers two broad principles. The first, which I think is more obvious, is that it is the rules by which we govern the assembly and the assembly does its business. And you have to have something to tell you, you know, where overtures are sent, how much time there is for debate, you know, etc. But I think there's another important aspect to the REO which should interest every single elder and even church members. And that is it helps to describe how the PCA does its ministry from General Assembly to General Assembly. Because it describes our various permanent committees and agencies and what they are and how they work. […]
