[…] And so we moved out of the city when I was in first grade. And someone put a violin in my hand. The rest was history, I thought. I just loved music. My mom played the piano. My sister played the piano. I studied piano. My brother ended up on the cello. I mean, we all played musical instruments. My sister played the bassoon. I was in the school orchestra in elementary school in the chorus, all through schools, county chorus, county choir. And then I was in a semi-professional Westchester Philharmonic Symphony playing with really the greats. You know, I was in the back of the second violin section, went to the Aspen Music School, studied violin, and then decided I really wanted a liberal arts education, so I would always play the violin, I thought, but I'm going to go to, not to Juilliard.
