And platforms are not built to be homes. Homes require safety, privacy, and rest. Platforms are optimized for something very, very different. First, engagement. So it keeps you scrolling. Second, exposure. It keeps you performing. And third, extraction. It keeps giving them your attention and our data. That's not a conspiracy theory. theory right like it's a business model and when you're a therapist who for those of us you know who are clinicians we've been trained to be present and relational that extraction cost is something that most people never realize you don't just lose time on all these platforms but you lose the quiet that you need to do the work that actually matters So what can purposeful use of social media look like instead?
