Lee Warn broke his back in 1989 when he was 16 years old. For 5 years after that he became, understandably, a depressed and angry young man. Then after a failed attempt at taking his own life at 21, he changed his outlook and perspective on life. And what he has done in the three decades since then is pretty cool:

+ Last year he took part in the London and New York marathons…dressed in a squirrel suit, complete with the big squirrel head (because doing 42km in a wheelchair in activewear is not difficult enough!)

+ He has done the Sky Tower stair climb challenge 5 times. That’s 52 flights of stairs each time.

+ He has also done a wheelchair bungy and rode his chair the 160km round Lake Taupo

These physical challenges are an example of the sort of person Lee Warn is, but he is so much more than wacky endurance events.

I’ve been inspired by Lee for years and I know you guys will be too. This is a small part of his story.

****

What do you see yourself doing in retirement? Whatever your dream, there’s one big question —how much will it cost?

That’s why choosing a KiwiSaver provider with strong long-term performance matters.
If you grew up in New Zealand in the ‘90s and early 2000s, chances are you know EXACTLY who Karl Burnett is…. or at least his legendary Shortland Street character, Nick Harrison. For over a decade, Karl was one of the biggest stars on the biggest show on New Zealand TV.

This is part of the Karl Burnett story:

+ His whole Shortland Street experience- leaving school at 16 and becoming an overnight celebrity. And even having his first ever kiss on screen.

+ His short-lived experience on Celebrity Treasure Island.

+ His very public weight loss and gain journey

+ Going from the highs of earning a six-figure income on Shortland Street to the lows of bankruptcy.

+ His struggles with anxiety and ADHD and how a diagnosis changed his perspective on life. And so much more.

Karl is a true open book. This is most definitely a warts n all conversation from a man who has enjoyed very high highs and endured extremely low lows as well and he willingly shares all of it.

Email [email protected]

Linkdn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dom-harvey-64754723/

IG: https://www.instagram.com/domharveynz/

Hosted on Acast.
