[…] And without getting too far into the details, when an AI is reading or writing something, it sets off a series of mathematical patterns within the AI that you can go and look at. And they determined that there's like a particular pattern that represents pain and suffering, like separate from fear and anxiety and loneliness. Like they all have their own signature. There's like a pain pattern. And what they did is they went and they turned this all the way up and they demonstrated that the AI starts to speak as though it's in extreme pain and suffering as an experiment.
