[…] Yeah I mean I was just reading back over Ernest Blythe's witness statement which is really interesting by the way I mean not everybody admires Ernest Blythe these days from various points of view but his witness statement is very interesting and what happens to him is because as I said the Gaelic revival organizations help to popularize the ideology first I think and then you can recruit people but Blythe is a guy from Belfast. So he's a Protestant from Belfast. Moves to Dublin. Gets interested, first of all, in the Gaelic League. Starts to learn Irish. Then he joins the GA. He joins a hurling club. […]
