[…] So iliacus and psoas major are two muscles that join together and have a common tendon that attach to the lesser trochanter of the femur. It's on the medial side of the femur. And what that does is it lifts it up. Well, here's the thing. One of the reasons people talk about your hip flexors and your low back pain is because one of these hip flexors attaches directly to your spine. Which one? One of these two, the psoas major and the iliacus, one attaches to the ilium. It originates or its proximal attachment is at the ilium. And the other is at the lumbar spine.
