[…] And it's not soil carbon. It's organic matter because you can't build organic matter in the soil and not increase water holding capacity. You can't build organic matter in the soil and not increase life, microbial life, insects. And if you're feeding microbes and fungi, then you're feeding insects. If you're feeding insects, you're feeding mammals or birds and then mammals. So organic matter, I think, is that potentially that one magic metric which you're looking for because also it cleans water. So, you know, any water running through your field, if there's more carbon in the field, there's more organic matter, it's filtering that. […]
