Wellcoaches is the flagship for Coaching Excellence; out in front since 2002, when we launched the first coaching school for health professionals. Having trained 16,000 coaches around the world, we are honored to have the opportunity to share their stories in this podcast. Here you will learn about their pathway to coaching and how their work is shaped by being a coach. We’ll also interview leaders in the field who have influenced our own thinking. Whether you are a new coach, or have been doing it since we still had to explain what coaching is, you will learn and be inspired through the conversations on Wellcoaches Inside.
In this inspiring episode, experienced health and wellness coach Holly Margl joins the conversation to reflect on her fourteen-year journey within the coaching community. From her early roots as a dedicated athlete and college instructor to becoming a master of her craft, Holly shares how a commitment to lifelong learning reshaped her career trajectory. She dives into the pivotal role coaching played in her life, offering hope and a renewed sense of purpose during times of deep personal transition. Listeners will discover how shifting away from quick fixes allows for a much deeper, more authentic connection with others. Her unique insights into human behavior reveal why true transformation begins when we learn to focus on the person rather than just their problems.
Beyond her foundational work, Holly discusses her book on navigating grief, trauma, and loss within professional conversations. She opens up about how integrating personality frameworks like the Enneagram can help coaches catch their own triggers and cultivate radical presence. The discussion explores practical ways to stay grounded, avoid common pitfalls, and hold space when facing difficult or uncomfortable emotions. Off the clock, Holly shares how staying curious as a student—whether on mountain bike trails or in daily life—keeps her grounded and energized. Tune in for an engaging conversation that will challenge how you approach holding space, personal growth, and showing up for others in meaningful ways.
