風暴後當局收集逾千公噸塌樹物料 將再造成傢具或裝飾
超強颱風「樺加沙」吹襲本港，不少樹木倒塌，當局至少收集到過千公噸相關物料，已經移送到指定地點暫放。 環保署為了加快將樹木分類，額外在青衣和沙田設立「樹木臨時處理點」，將樹木打成木碎後，再一次過運去屯門的園林廢物回收中心Y•PARK [林•區] ，循環再造成傢具或裝飾。 署方又說，會總結今次經驗及根據颱風的威力，審視日後打風時是否都會設立「樹木臨時處理點」。 記者林漢山報道

東壩採措施控制人流 陳國基：安排暢順惟要改善單線雙程行車
十一國慶黃金周假期，不少市民和遊客到西貢萬宜水庫東壩遠足。政府採取優化措施，包括加強專線小巴班次、設置信息顯示屏，交代人流數目等。 有市民及旅客滿意新安排。政務司司長陳國基等官員，昨日到東壩視察，他形容整體安排暢順，但沿路不少路段單線雙程行車，會與警方研究改善。 民建聯立法會議員李世榮表示，東壩交通情況比想像中暢順，又指黃金周假期仍有好幾天，需要繼續觀察。他認同東壩道路有局限性，長遠政府應與持份者商討一個平衡各方的方案。 記者陳樂謙報道

本港各界於昨日十一國慶，推出多項優惠。除了市民半價看電影外，康文署多項設施亦免費開放，有市民到公共泳池暢游。 有飲食界推出七折優惠，有市民認為優惠對留港消費有吸引力。業界人士估計，昨日飲食界整體生意額有望按年升一成。 國慶中秋超級黃金周展開，業界預計今年的內地訪港旅客數字上升，有內地遊客表示來港觀賞煙花，並到郊外接觸大自然。 記者任浩鋒報道
