[…] And so the decision became, do we lose both her and the baby or do we at least try and save the baby? And so we decided we were going to try and save the calf. We, due to the kind of variation in giraffe gestation, you know, there is that range. We weren't sure exactly how premature the calf was, but we knew it was anywhere from about two to seven weeks premature. Um, But even that timeframe, we were like, we're going to give it a go. So we made the decision to do a terminal C-section, meaning that we knew we were going to lose mom, but we were going to try and save baby. And I can let Jess kind of step in and because she did a lot of the next steps in communication. […]
