[…] I'm sure this would have been carefully sort of sounded out behind the scenes by their respective diplomats and Sherpas, but rather carefully calibrated equipoise. Modi wanted to say something that sounds critical enough to be hailed in the West, but not so critical as to anger Russia. And in particular, by not saying who is at fault. It's not like Modi was pointing at Putin and saying, you, you, you've got to do this. He's just more of saying, well, peace should be made, should be pushed forward, which again is, is a kind of bland generic statement in many ways. So, you know, again, I don't think we should expect China or India or to get involved and certainly when they're not at the point where they're actually putting pressure to bear on Russia to pull in its horns and end the war.
