[…] And that little swirl of air... creates essentially a barrier that smooths out the overall airflow around the tire. Now the trip does that in a more subtle way. A trip is just something that like an arrow sock has those grooves kicks out the air even further. So on the leading edge of the tire, the vortex generators hit the air first. Like you hit the, the air hits the tread, which is not arrow treatment. That tread is just made for traction and then flows to these V shaped vortex generators that don't hit the dirt. They're just for airflow management. They kick out the flow. And then the trip kind of furthers that mission further down the sidewall. […]
