STARLINK: Musk Proposed It. Trump Agreed. Then Both Denied It.
I examine a new Telegraph report alleging that Elon Musk proposed, and Donald Trump agreed to, slowing SpaceX’s Starshield service for Ukraine. The report, citing U.S. and Western officials, conflicts directly with public denials by Trump and Musk. I separate what the Telegraph alleges from what remains unconfirmed, while comparing it with earlier Reuters and AFP reporting that placed the decision inside the White House.The stakes are immediate. Zelensky said Starlink speeds had not yet been fully restored and that a 161 km/h speed cap had impaired interceptor drones pursuing Russian jet drones, as well as frontline resupply. Cross-border trials at 180 km/h in the EU were cited as evidence that the restriction targeted Ukrainian airspace.
