菲比说Joey赚钱用了 “hand over fist”这个短语，意思是大量的，迅速地（敛财）。当然菲比这里用这个词还有一个很三俗的隐喻。这个短语总跟在赚钱的后面，从字面上看容易被人望文生义地理解为是易如反掌的意思。记得当年《越狱》火爆的时候，YYETS发布的翻译版本中也将这个词译为易如反掌，还在论坛上引起争议。
2. How are you holding up? 你还好吧？
How are you holding up？当人面对困难时，你想知道对方怎么应付，就可以这样问。比如当人丧失亲友时，或生病时… 会回答说：“Well，I’ll see what I can do”。看看咯，看能怎么办咯。
有时候也指事情准备得怎么样了。
3. fortune 一大笔钱
cost sb a fortune 花了一大笔钱
make a fortune 发了大财
4. give it a chance 试一下，给个机会
Ross对Rachel说give us a chance. give sth/sb a chance 给某人或某事一个机会，试一下
相同的短语 give it a shot 还有 give it a try.
5. be attracted to 喜欢，被...吸引
be attracted to sb 口语常用等于 like
I am attracted to her. 我喜欢她。
6. can't wait to do sth 迫不及待做某事
can’t wait to do = be dying to do = be desperate to do 迫不及待要做某事

菲比的有一首力作值得欣赏一下，这是唱给产房外初为人父母的人听的 They are tiny and chubby(胖嘟嘟)and so sweet to touch; But soon they will grow up and resent you so much; Now they are yelling at you and you don’t know why; Andyou cry and you cry and you cry
3. parachute knapsack joke
chandler 在monica的逼问下无以应答，他说Dear God, the parachute is a knapsack. 降落伞是个背包。这个笑话想必都听过吧。飞机失事某人抢个降落伞就跳出去了结果是个背包。Chandler形容自己此刻的处境

land on 本意是降落。The plan lands on the airport. 另外这个短语也可以表示确定。We landed on this solution.

Friends S01E22: 劳动生产打传呼 起猛头晕太腻乎
1. beeper 传呼机
beeper 传呼机 现在年轻人已经不知道这是何物了。在上个世纪九十年代这可是当时很潮的东西。它的学名应该叫pager 记得我第一个呼机是数字的，上面显示 page one, page two.我当时就以为是第一页，第二页。后来才知道page 有通过扩音器，传呼机呼叫的意思
2. in labour 分娩
go into labor = be in labor. 生产（孩子）属于委婉语。Be in family way是 pregnant（怀孕）的委婉语。记得有个笑话讲一个老头儿移民美国投奔女儿，开始苦学英语。一日女儿一干白人同事来访，众人聊天，老头一旁偷听练习听力。当他听到一个女儿的朋友说某女同事 She is in labor today. 老头终于听到熟悉的词汇，大喜，忙插嘴说 I am in labor all the time when I was young.他还以为 in labor是劳动呢。众人皆⊙﹏⊙b汗

菲比充当Chandler的临时秘书接电话时说 I will see that he gets the message. 这里see that 的含义是设法做到，努力做到

菲比从沙发上站起来说 head rush 就是一下子起来猛了感到头晕

icky 粘的讨厌的，过分甜的 They are icky couple. 这一对儿太腻乎了
