Auf Umwegen zum Winzer: Laurin Eberling wächst in der Stadt auf – ohne Bezug, ohne Familienweingut, ohne Berühungspunkte zum Wein. Und trotzdem entscheidet er sich nach dem Abitur für ein Weinbaustudium – so einfach ging es dann doch nicht. Nach schwierigen ersten Erfahrungen und einem Ausflug in die Politikwissenschaften findet Laurin im zweiten Anlauf seinen Weg zum Wein. Diesmal über eine Ausbildung zum Winzer. Es folgen einige Jahre bei Rheingauer Vorzeigebetrieb Peter Jakob Kühn und Jobs im Weinhandel – bis er 2023 an den ersten kleinen Weinberg kommt.

Was hat ein Opel Kadett damit zu tun, dass heute in Rust wieder großartiger Furmint entsteht? Und wieso hätte ein Gespräch mit einem Physiker in Australien fast dazu geführt, dass daraus nichts wird? Michael Wenzel gräbt tief im Familienarchiv und erzählt ganz im Detail, wie die burgenländisch-ungarische Verbindung am Weingut sich über die Jahrzehnte entwickelt hat. Er und Sonja geben uns Einblicke in den Wandel hin zum Naturwein, wir besprechen, wie wichtig Sonjas Außensicht für die Stilfindung am Weingut ist und welche Hürden die Art von Arbeit mit Furmint beinhaltet, die am Weingut Wenzel umgesetzt wird.

Einmal nach Barcelona bitte: Man nehme eine kleine Reisegruppe, 4-5 Tage Zeit und eine ordentliche Portion Genussmotivation. Michal hat versucht sich einmal durch das beste kulinarische Angebot Kataloniens zu essen und zu trinken – abseits der Michelin-Sterneküche wohlgemerkt. Zurückgekehrt ist er mit ganz vielen Eindrücken, es wurde selbstverständlich großartig getrunken und gegessen. Am Ende bleibt nur eines: Nämlich eine ganz große Empfehlung, kulinarisch tut sich in Barcelona gerade so einiges!
